When you want your dog to live with you inside the house you need to go through several housebreaking processes, not unless you have a hideous hygienic standards. How much more if you have with you a difficult dog to train, that will surely involve a greater deal of effort and may possibly give you too much strain.
In case your dog is difficult to train don't stress yourself too much. There are several ways that you can employ in training your stubborn dog wherein you don't need to go through a lot of stress and mess. Knowing the rules in training a dog will not require you to have a difficult time. The following scheme and rules in training your dog will economize your time. What you only need to do is to involve yourself in the training process; through this commitment you will be able to teach your dog in a short span of time.
The Rules
The first rule and the most important of all rules—do not punish your dog if you did not catch him doing something wrong.
The second rule: Do not forget to praise your dog when he did it right. Let the dog know that they are doing the right thing.
The House Training
You can place pretreated pads or papers in one spot in the house where the dog often stays. The scented chemicals of the pad will attract and encourage the dogs to use that area. When you notice that the dog gets used to using the pads, drag it to the bathroom and carry the dog to the pads. Like what have been mentioned above, do not forget to praise your dog when he learns to use the bathroom already.
When the dogs are consistently using the pads, move them close to the door or you can also place another set outside the house. Did you notice the transition? It started from one place inside the home, to the toilet, until it reaches outside. Gradually, the papers are removed from the home. However, this method will entail a bit of time.
If you don't like the first method you can try this one—crate training. This method uses a crate. It is suggested to place the dog in a crate which is good enough for his bed size since dogs do not like to soil their own beds, who wants to rest in a mess anyway. The tendency to this is that the dog will be forced to control their pooping. But don't forget to get them out after some time to eliminate their bowels. So, before you place your dog inside the crate make sure that you take him first to his spot outside.
If you still find it difficult to train your dog you can just give him constant supervision. Spend some time with your dog. Whenever you see your dog doing his potty inside the home, push him outside, doing this repeatedly will instruct the dog that it is the proper place to do it.
You can also apply to your dog the verbal cues. Communicate with your dog, this help both of you to recognize what is wanted. But be sure that if you apply a verbal command everybody in the house will use the same word.
Remember, training is really not that easy. The suggested ways mentioned above to help your dog learn the right place to potty would be more effective if you will join it with patience and calmness. Do not be in too much of a hurry; let you and your dog enjoy the process of training.
