Dog beds are more important to your pet than you might think. Have you ever seen your dog try to curl up in an old blanket? His paws twitching, his legs slightly moving, you watch your dog sleep. If dogs do dream, and there is no reason to think they don’t, what do they dream about?

Dog beds come in a mind-boggling variety of styles, shapes and sizes. Buying the right kind of bed and maintaining it properly can go a long way to your dog’s happiness, and maybe even your own. If he’s got a comfy place to drop, he’ll be less likely to curl up on the couch or your own bedroom. Letting your pet sleep with you is generally a bad idea, and can lead to other problems.
What kind of dog beds should I look for?
While shopping for dog beds, consider these questions. Does your pet curl up into a ball or love to lean against soft things? If so, a donut style would be a great choice. They are great for cold weather conditions. Is your companion older or arthritic? Heated dog beds are a great choice in the winter as is an air conditioned bed in the summer. Does your pet spend time outdoors or in a kennel? The he likely needs a bed as much or even more than a canine living indoors.
To your pet, dog beds don't quite mean the same as it does to us humans. To a canine, a bed is any soft, clean surface, such as the white bedspread in the guest room or the newly upholstered couch in the living room. In other words, in your pet's mind, that which at any given moment appears to be the most comfortable place to sleep - that is my bed.
